Photo Route – This route is a beautiful back road.

Access these roads from the South at Iowana Farm, and Harvest Studio or from the North at Hitchcock Nature Center.

Starting in Crescent At Honey Creek Creamery take Badger Avenue to Iowana Farm and Harvest Studio, then continue on back roads to Hitchcock Nature Center.

Starting at Hitchcock Nature Center go south on Old Lincoln Highway and take back roads starting with Coldwater.

Hickory Hills Land and Livestock is no longer on the tour, but you will see it from 195 on the west side.

You can also cut from Honey Creek Creamery to 195 on Magnolia Road.

Take a short detour from the route to see Hazel Dell United Methodist church. Hazel Dell is a perfect country church with a very old cemetery.

Entering Tour from the North

From I29 exit at Mondamin (Exit#89) to Sawmill Hollow.

Take 127 East to Magnolia. At the edge of town turn right. At L23/Lorado/Locust continue to Kennedy Ave. Turn right. Follow signs to Sawmill Hollow.

Or to Lavender Farm

At 127 and L20/Loess Hills trail split stay right. continue on 1.5 miles to Lavender Farm on Left.

Entering Tour from the South

From Council Bluffs take Broadway north (by Pizza King) which turns into L-20/Old Lincoln Highway. Go approx. 7 miles north into Crescent.

In Crescent turn right on Badger (E. Welsh) and proceed until you see Iowana Farm on the right. Go to the large building behind the little greenhouse.

To Honey Creek Creamery and Stanley’s Shack, Continue on Old Lincoln Highway until Mahogany. Turn right and it is immediately on your right.

Flood closings continue on Old Mormon Road and I-29.
